Why Consider This Chief Revenue Officer Role?
You are likely already running a successful revenue or operations organization, but you might be dealing with corporate red tape, misaligned department silos, or slow decision-making.
This Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) position offers true operational authority. As our executive commercial leader, both the Head of Sales and Head of Customer Success will report directly to you. Instead of just making strategy recommendations from the sidelines, you will hold direct structural authority over the teams driving our commercial growth.
The Chief Revenue Officer Mandate
We are looking for an executive-level Chief Revenue Officer to act as the primary architect and manager of our commercial organization.
Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will own the entire end-to-end revenue lifecycle: driving pipeline, closing deals, scaling retention, and optimizing profit margins across all commercial teams.
What You Will Own as Chief Revenue Officer
1. Executive Commercial Leadership
- Direct Team Management: Directly manage and lead the Head of Sales and Head of Customer Success to ensure total alignment across acquisition, retention, and expansion.
- Unified Revenue Strategy: Own the complete customer lifecycle (LTV, CAC, NRR, gross margins) and build a unified commercial culture.
- Pricing & Expansion Mechanics: Analyze unit economics to optimize pricing structures, cross-sell/upsell frameworks, and churn-prevention strategies.
2. Revenue Infrastructure & Operations
- Predictable Growth Engine: Build high-precision forecasting models and pipeline analytics that remove guesswork from revenue planning.
- Tech Stack Ownership: Audit, scale, and manage our entire GTM tech ecosystem (CRM, revenue intelligence, automated workflows, BI tools).
- Frictionless Execution: Streamline workflows across sales cycles and customer success to maximize rep productivity and team throughput.
What We Expect from Our CRO
- 8+ years of commercial leadership with proven experience in RevOps, Sales Leadership, or Revenue Operations at a Director or Head level.
- Direct Management Track Record: Prior experience managing senior leaders (Directors/Heads of Sales or CS).
- Systems & Financial Fluency: Mastery of core enterprise systems combined with deep unit economics acumen.
- A low-ego, high-ownership executive who thrives on building scalable systems and holding teams accountable to performance metrics.
Why Top Chief Revenue Officers Make the Move
- Unmatched Authority: Full oversight of both RevOps infrastructure and the frontline Sales and CS leadership teams.
- Zero Bureaucracy: Fast decision-making cycles and a leadership team that trusts operational data.
- Executive Compensation: Premium base salary + equity/bonuses tied to top-line growth and NRR.
- Work Setup: 100% remote with asynchronous workflows that respect your executive bandwidth.
